		<description>The only quick research I&#039;ve done on the internet indicates mutant sunflowers occur if the plant or seed are damaged by herbicides or other chemicals drifting on them by the wind, birds or small animals. As I&#039;ve got visiting squirrels who enjoy eating my plants (see later posts  for an example of some of their damage)  I wouldn&#039;t be surprised if they brought something in on their fur when they visited my garden.</description>
