On Saturday the weather was good enough from me to dig out the rubble in the dead area and get rid of more of the ivy roots. I sieved out as many of the small stones as I could and put the soil in the bags. I stopped and then it has rained continually for next five days. This means that my car got wet transporting the stuff to the dump. I still haven’t finished. It’s amazing how much rubbish 1 metre square can hold.
I found a few bits of fungus growing in some of the pots and on the ground as it’s been so damp but the African marigolds have really got growing in the weather and some of them have started flowering.
I also brought some garlic bulbs and have made garlic wash that stinks. I now need to go outside and water everything with a dilute solution of it.
Finally I managed to get rid of some of my excess plants. I got rid of my Sancti Johannis via freecycle. I still don’t understand why people ask for plants then don’t respond to their mobile phone or home email. Luckily the next person on the list was more organised and even though there was a delay in them picking them up they stayed in contact. I also have got rid of 2 of the 6 Chili plants.
