Today I noticed one of my lavender plants had died. Then I remembered I watered it with water containing fertilizer. Oh well now I have room for some other plants. I think I will get a thyme to replace it.
The other day I saw one of the pesky squirrels guilty running from my garden. I then looked later and noticed the first allium that had flowered had been bitten off. Anyway they haven’t been back for more as apparently humans are the only creatures that like eating onions and garlic. However my begonias are firmly planted under chicken wire.
The mystery shrub which I found out was called Broom X Brutus which flowered in spring and last autumn is now in full flower. Apparently after flowering I can prune it. The flowers look like this:
