Seeds and tulips

By smallgarden7

On Monday I went outside and decided that it was time to sow all my seeds. So I spent a good hour or two sowing red and yellow poppy seeds, some sunflowers and cornflowers over the garden. I then covered the seeds with bark and mulched around some of the other plants.

I also did some pruning of osteopermums and fuchsias. I should have pruned the fuchsias hard in the autumn but I thought just covering it with fleece would be enough to stop the leaves from dropping. Least they have new growth.

The osteoperumums had some frost damage on the lower parts of their stems but they are now covered with new growth. I’ve had to move them as I’ve sown poppies where the pot use to stand. I aim to plant it into the ground but first I have to kill off the bindweed.

I discovered a spanish bluebell growing in the grass so I dug it out. I should have used weed killer instead. Unfortunately I still haven’t got around to cutting the grass as it was wet due to rain the day before. I need to dry days of reasonable temperatures then I will be able to cut it. The tulips have started to open. I will have to take a picture of them soon.

My pepper seeds have sprouted! I’ve just been on ebay to buy more plant pots so I can pot them up. I’m going to have too many plants so I’m going to give them away to people.
